Maximum flexibility and performance. Innovative optics support both cuvettes and vials. Temperature control accurate to 0.1°C. Easily integrates into your UV-Vis/IR/NIR spectroscopy setup.
Thoughtfully designed for convenient and efficient use 'at line' or in laboratory settings. Built to last, the holder features exceptional build quality and is precision-engineered to ensure long-term durability and reliable performance.
As the performance of your optical path is crucial, we've developed a precision lens alignment system that directs the light beam through the lenses with exceptional accuracy. This minimises light energy loss and maximises the amount of light that interacts with your samples.
Built to deliver consistent light transmission across measurements, the cuvette holder ensures that the highest-quality signal reaches your spectrometer. This enhances sensitivity and enables more accurate concentration measurements, allowing you to produce more reliable and reproducible spectral data.
The innovative lens alignment system seamlessly supports both cuvettes and vials. With a quick turn of a knob, you can reconfigure the lens array to match the specific light beam requirements of either format. It’s that simple — one device, two use cases.
The optical path for cuvette-based measurements:
When you turn the knob to 'Vial', two cylindrical lenses are positioned into the optical path:
The dual-channel cuvette holder accommodates two cuvettes and/or vials, enabling side-by-side sample analysis. For example, you can pour the same sample into two vials – one with a short path length and the other with a long one – to directly compare their results.

The single-channel cuvette holder accomodates one cuvette and/or vial, making it ideal for standard applications involving single-sample measurements.

The cuvette holder is highly versatile and can be configured to accommodate a range of cuvettes and vials with different path lengths as per your requirements.
These are the two standard available configurations:
15mm round slot for vial with 12mm path length.
12.5mm square slot for cuvette with 10mm path length.
When used with the flexible lens alignment system, the removable insert for the square slot enables you to use both 12.5mm cuvettes and 8.0mm vials:
Removable insert with 8mm round slot for vial with 6mm path length.
Easily integrate the holder into any UV-Vis/IR/NIR spectroscopy setup using industry-standard SMA 905 fibre-optic connectors.
The dual-channel holder supports simultaneous connection to two spectrometers for parallel measurements.

Unlike spectrometers with built-in heated cuvette or vial holders, which typically limit temperatures to about 70°C to prevent component damage, our holder can heat samples up to 250°C. Each cuvette or vial is equipped with its own intuitive control interface and digital display, allowing precise temperature adjustment and monitoring to the tenth of a degree. The samples are fully enclosed within the holder, safely secured beneath an easily accessible hatch.
In "at-line" environments, spills are inevitable, even with the most careful handling. Dropping viscous, corrosive liquids, or fragile glass components into sensitive, costly spectrometers can lead to costly downtime and repairs. Our external holder helps prevent such accidents. To further protect your equipment, we've designed the cuvette/vial opening with an integrated funnel to catch any accidental spills, ensuring both the holder and your spectrometer stay clean and safe.
Since 1974 we design, prototype and build custom-made laboratory instruments for analytical chemistry and spectroscopy – from specialised glass instruments to bespoke NIR spectrometers.
We love working with scientists on challenging projects, combining their expertise with ours to create simple and elegant solutions. Whether we’re designing a new solution from scratch or refining an existing concept, we find great satisfaction in seeing ideas come to life.
Besides custom instruments, we offer a specialised range of ready-to-use, temperature-controlled cuvette holders designed to complement your existing spectroscopy setup.
We're blessed to work with a diverse range of clients, such as laboratories specialising in analytical chemistry, biochemistry and molecular biology; biotechnology and pharmaceutical R&D; clinical diagnostics; agriculture; food and beverage; petrochemical and oil.
"Our instruments play a crucial role in the production of high quality products: from safe and effective medicines to great tasting food. It's how we help our clients make a positive impact on people's lives. That's what drives us to always create the best possible instruments."
